Development of LED industry Time:2017-6-5 Click:
No matter what work we do, we need to have a certain understanding of the industry where the work is located. Only in this way can we grasp the development trend of the industry in a macro sense. Then this article is to introduce the development overview of LED industry and understand the development overview of LED, which will be of great help to the research and development of LED or the sales of LED products in the future.

Three stages of led development:

The first stage is from 1990 to 1995, mainly monochromatic and 16 level two-color graphic screens. It is mainly used in public places such as stations, financial securities, banks, post offices, etc. as a public information display tool.

The second stage is from 1995 to 1999. There are 64 level and 256 level gray-scale dual primary color video screens. The application of video control technology, image processing technology, optical fiber communication technology and so on has promoted the LED display to a new level. At the same time, LED display control ASIC chip was developed and applied by domestic enterprises.

In the third stage, from 1999, a large number of red, pure green and pure blue LED tubes began to flow into China. At the same time, domestic enterprises carried out in-depth research and development work. The full-color display screen produced by using red, green and blue primary color LEDs was widely used and entered public places such as stadiums, exhibition centers, and wide venues, so as to bring the domestic large screen into the full-color era.

Large quantity and wide range of lighting upgrading in China

China is not only a big country in the production and export of lighting appliances in the world, but also a big country in consumption. In 2007, the sales volume was 200 billion yuan and the export volume was 13 billion US dollars, accounting for 12% of the global market. In China alone, the annual sales volume of incandescent lamps reaches 2 billion, the proportion of incandescent lamps used by small and medium-sized urban residents is about 50%, and the proportion of incandescent lamps used in rural areas is larger. Under the promotion of the national policy of energy conservation and environmental protection and local governments, upgrading or eliminating the existing backward energy consuming lighting appliances is a major trend. Some organizations predict that the annual growth rate of domestic energy-saving lighting industry will reach 27% in the next five years. According to the statistics and forecast of national semiconductor lighting engineering research and development and Industry Alliance, by 2010, the market size of LED in general lighting field alone in China will exceed 12 billion.

However, a statistical data of LED Industry Research Institute, led China online (ledenside), shows that by the end of 2009, there are more than 3000 led enterprises in China, of which only 140 have an annual output value of more than 100 million. However, among these 140 enterprises, none of them has annual sales of more than 1 billion yuan, and only a few have sales of more than 500 million yuan, most of which are between 100 million yuan and 200 million yuan. It can be seen that although there are many led enterprises in China, the scale is generally small.
